Central Chapter of SDWU received South Dakota Parks and Recreation Organization Citation Award for their Lake Sharpe Clean up efforts. The award was accept by Bill Englehart. Despite triple digit temperatures participants in the annual Missouri River Clean-up collected nearly 5,000 pounds of debris on July 11th from the upper end of Lake Sharpe near Pierre and Fort Pierre. Over 4,000 pounds, or two tons, of trash and debris was collected during the annual Missouri River/Lake Sharpe Clean up Wednesday, July 10th. The handicap accessible fishing dock at Chamberlain has been completed. Completion of this dock was done through the partnership of SD Game, Fish and Parks, City of Chamberlain and South Dakota Walleyes Unlimited Sioux Empire Chapter. SDWU collected private donations as well as donating from their chapter.
