SD Walleyes Unlimited Photos – Kids’ Day 2010

Sioux Empire Chapter Kids’ Day

There were 60 kids that attended “Take a Kid Fishing Day” which was held on July 18, 2010 at the Brandon Quarry. The kids caught some impressive fish, from barely fit in the palm of your hand all the way to 18 inch. They caught perch, bass and bluegills. But, the important thing was the kids and parents were having a good time. We had several groups that told us their children had been looking forward to this day, as they had attended previously.

Hot dogs, chips, pop & water were provided by Mark Thompson, owner of the Brandon Quarry and Coca Cola of Sioux Falls.

Prizes were awarded by age groups. If you received a call that you had won an item, please pick it up asap from Dakota Angler on Benson Road and 4th Avenue.

Rapid City Area Chapter Kids’ Day

Tuesday, June 29th was CAST for Kids at Angostura Reservoir. the RCAC had excellent representation with 8 volunteers with boats attending. The 27 kids were from the Rapid City Boys Club. The Bureau of Reclamation did an outstanding job organizing everything with life jackets, bait, equipment and lunch with a plaque for each youth participant. Most of the boys attending were able to catch a fish, and it appeared all had an great time. Our thanks to the BOR for their excellent execution of this magnificent event.
